Services
Crystalfit was created to help with the problem of "where can I get my watch repaired". It's difficult to find a watchmaker on the staff of most jewelry stores. And even more so to find one who can cut and set a watch crystal / lens / glass / face or repair a mechanical watch.
With over 20 years of experience in repairing and restoring watches, we can resolve your watch problems.
Whether you live in New York City or small town in Kansas, you can trust that we have the knowledge, skill and experience to make your timepiece look and perform its best.

Crystal Replacement
Crystal (also referred to as lens, glass or face) replacement is a deceptively difficult process. A properly fit crystal is a thing of beauty and enhances a watch tremendously. An improperly fit crystal is, at the least, unsightly and, at the most, an impairment to the function of the watch. At Crystal-Fit, we have over 40 years experience in this area. We are confident you will be amazed with what a new crystal can do for your watch.
Steps We Take When Replacing A Crystal
Below are the typical steps taken when replacing a crystal. Three different kind of watches are shown as examples.
High Grade - Small |
Sport - Large |
Shaped (Vintage) |

An 18K Patek Philippe ladies watch was sent due to a cracked crystal. |
A modern quartz sports watch was sent with part of the crystal broken out. |
A vintage mens Wittnauer watch was sent that had a cystal which was severely scuffed and scratched. |

|
An appropriately sized glass crystal was selected to replace the cracked one. |
The movement and crystal were removed from the case and dried glue and debris cleaned. |
The replacement crystal selected is shown to illustrate the complexity of a "simple" crystal. Note not only is the required crystal domed, but the sides are arched as well. |

In addition to inspection and cleaning, many watch crystals (particularly vintage) need "fine tuning" for a perfect fit. |
